Joakim Noah needed some liquid courage to get through his photo shoot for GQ magazine.
Nothing like a couple shots of tequila to put a 7-footer into model mode. Especially for Noah, who has as much love for fashion as he does for Kevin Garnett, the Miami Heat, 76ers fans and the city of Cleveland.
“My fashion sense is to be as comfortable as possible,’’ Noah said. “I wear sweatpants 90 percent of the time.’’
Luckily for him, the tuxedo and tennis shoes look he sported in the March issue of the magazine required little thought.
“They dress you on GQ,’’ Noah said.
Noah praised idol Vlade Divac in the magazine and had more to say on Wednesday night.
“I love the passion he played the game with, and it looked easy, too, the way he played,” Noah said. ‘‘I love the way he could catch the ball and push it up the break. Not a lot of centers do that. He just played the game the right way, and he played it to win. I respect that. He never got that chip [NBA championship], but he came so close so many times and I was really pulling for him.’’
