Bulls’ Jimmy Butler likely out tonight vs. Hawks

ATLANTA – Tom Thibodeau called Jimmy Butler (ribs) a game-time decision.
Butler, however, sounded like playing in tonight’s game against Atlanta was doubtful at best.
“There’s been a little bit [of improvement], but with your ribs it’s just tough,’’ Butler said before the Tuesday shootaround. You can’t move, you get hit and it’s hard to breath at times. Yeah, there’s improvement, but it’s still kind of hard.
“It hurts. I guess you got to deal with it. This is the life we chose. Got to play through it.’’
But just likely not tonight. And unfortunately for Butler there’s not a lot of time to rest and improve. The Bulls have a back-to-back with Golden State on Wednesday night, an off day, and then face the Mavericks in Dallas on Friday.
And it isn’t like Butler is not a difference maker. In the 14 games he’s missed this season, the Bulls are just 4-10.
