The Bulls have waived center Andrew Bynum, who was acquired from the Cavaliers along with multiple draft picks in exchange for forward Luol Deng, the team announced today.
By waiving Bynum before the second half of his $12.3 million salary kicks in, the Bulls are able to keep Deng and Bynum off the books and save more than $15 million in salary, taking them below the salary-cap and out of luxury tax hell.
The Bulls’ roster is now at 12.
