MIAMI — Now that the Denver Nuggets and coach of the year George Karl have parted ways, it’s obvious that few jobs are safe.

NBA commissioner David Stern called it “a natural consequence’’ of increasing parity and teams feeling pressure to compete with better results.

“They may be wrong, but that’s what happens,’’ Stern said.

◆ Any hope the Bulls had of landing Georgia shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is drying up. The pure scorer’s draft stock has soared from mid-first round to the No. 9 spot held by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Bulls hold the 20th pick and are still high on Louisville center Gorgui Dieng, according to several scouts.

◆ Keep an eye on Miami Heat big man Chris “Birdman’’ Andersen throughout the Finals.

The free agent-to-be could be on the Bulls’ radar this offseason as they seek one-year deals to rebuild the bench much like they did last offseason.

◆ This was the last state-of-the-league Finals address for Stern, who’s stepping down Feb. 1, 2014.

He took one last shot at conspiracy theorists who still believe he rigged the 1985 draft to make sure Patrick Ewing landed in New York.

Stern added that he has no regrets about his tenure. Deputy commissioner Adam Silver will take over for Stern, so expect a smooth transition, considering Silver’s long apprenticeship under Stern.
