Knicks win Game 5 to stay alive
Tim Duncan led five players in double figures with 19 points, and the visiting San Antonio Spurs advanced to the Western Conference finals with a 94-82 victory Thursday against the upstart Golden State Warriors.
The Spurs won the series 4-2 and will face the Memphis Grizzlies for a berth in the NBA Finals. Game 1 of that
series is scheduled for Sunday in San Antonio.
Kawhi Leonard added 16 points and 10 rebounds, Tiago Splitter 14 points, Tony Parker 13 points and eight assists and Danny Green 11 points for the Spurs.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 25 points, but he shot 10-for-25 from the field.
Knicks 85, Pacers 75
Carmelo Anthony scored 28 points, and the New York Knicks stayed alive in their Eastern Conference semifinal series with a victory against the Indiana Pacers in Game 5.
J.R. Smith and Chris Cope-
land each added 13 points for the Knicks, who still trail the series 3-2 and will need a victory in Game 6 on Saturday in Indianapolis to force a decisive Game 7 on Monday. They are trying to become the ninth team to overcome a 3-1 deficit.
Paul George had 23 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead the Pacers, who played without point guard George Hill (concussion).
