MIAMI—When the Bulls take on Miami in Game 2 on Wednesday, it’s unlikely that either Kirk Hinrich or Luol Deng will be back.
Hinrich didn’t sound optimistic on Tuesday about his bruised left calf. And Deng, who has remained in Chicago while recuperating from the side-effects of a spinal tap, wasn’t even necessarily going to join the team in South Florida.
``The swelling is looking better, the coloring is looking better, Hinrich said. ``But as far as functioning, moving, I’m having lots of trouble. Just keep getting treatment and go from there. Nothing’s really changed.’’
Hinrich said he has no timetable other than ``as
soon as I feel good enough to play and help.’’
It appears that Deng will continue to recuperate back in Chicago. When he might be able to return to action remains unclear.
``Luol is feeling better,’’ coach Tom Thibodeau said. ``I spoke to him [Tuesday] morning. He’s still not here [in Miami]. We’ll make a decision on Wednesday whether it’s better for him to come in or wait another day.’’
The Bulls will return home immediately after Game 2. Games 3 and 4 are in Chicago on Friday and Monday.
