How big of a deal was it for the Bulls to end the Heat’s winning streak, especially without Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah?
I think it was pretty darn good. I don’t think anybody in their right mind expected it. I mean, let’s face it, the Heat is good. They really are. And for the Bulls to do that, it shows they’re a pretty good team — as a team missing two of their best players.
Opening Day is Monday. How do you think the Cubs are going to do this season?
I’m always praying for them, and I’m always hoping for them, but I don’t know. There are a lot of good teams out there in baseball, and I don’t know if they have good enough pitching to do it. But you always hope for the best. I’m a Cubs fan, a National League guy. They’ve got some good hitters. They’ve got a lot of good things, but it is what it is.
How do you think the White Sox will do?
I’m a Sox fan, too, but baseball, to me, I don’t know how you can tell from one year to the next. You never know how the Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays are going to do. They’re all good teams. But I
think the Sox are going to contend, I really do. I think they’ve got really good pitching.
Do you see Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o being a good fit for the Bears?
I do, and I really like the kid. I like him a lot, but a lot of people were pretty critical of this, that and the other, and I don’t really understand it. You run 4.71 [in the 40-yard dash], that’s pretty damn good. He’s a good football player. He has great instincts, so, yes, I think he’d be a really great pick for the Bears.
