Luol Deng was voted onto to the NBA’s All-Defensive Second Team on Wednesday, but that’s not what Chicagoans were tweeting about.
Rather, it was that Carlos Boozer received one vote.
The team is chosen by NBA head coaches, and they are not allowed to vote for their own players.
Here are some of the comments:
@scott_tobias: Carlos Boozer getting ridiculed for his one Defensive Player of the Year vote: I fear he will not be able to defend against that, either.
@russbengston: Carlos Boozer probably yelled really loud when some intern was filling out a ballot.
@Jokediggy: Carlos Boozer wouldn’t make second-string All-Defense on his own team.
