Larry Brown, who resigned early last season as the coach of the Charlotte Bobcats,
recently returned to the college ranks as the coach at SMU. But that didn’t stop him from taking a few shots at his old boss.

Appearing on the ‘‘Dan Patrick Show’’ on Wednesday, Brown said Bobcats owner Michael Jordan was very disconnected and surrounded himself with sycophants.

‘‘I love the guy, but he’s around people that don’t have a clue,’’ Brown said. ‘‘And they won’t challenge him.’’

Brown conceded Jordan still knows the game, but he said there was a lack of communication between them.

‘‘When I was able to visit with him and pick his brain — he knows,’’ Brown said. ‘‘But he has people around him that make me sick.’’
