Sports Illustrated calls Jabari Parker ‘best since LeBron’

If Simeon junior Jabari Parker wasn’t feeling the pressure of being the No. 1 basketball recruit in the country, he might now.
Not only has Sports Illustrated placed the hoops prodigy on its cover this week, but they call Parker “the best high school player since LeBron James.”
The cover story takes an indepth look at Parker’s Mormon faith. Writer Jeff Benedict, who is also Mormon, reports that Parker might have to make a choice between the NBA or a faith-spreading mission after his freshman year of college.
“I realize why I’m in the position I’m in right now,” he told SI. “It’s not because of me. It’s because of God.”
