At the plate: Carlos Quentin hit his first home run of the Cactus League season, but the shocker came when Omar Vizquel also connected on his first long ball. The Sox had 11 hits, including two-hit performances by Quentin, Paul Konerko and Brent Morel.
On the mound: If John Danks isn’t ready for the start of the season just yet, he’s real close. He threw five scoreless innings and allowed one hit, walked three and fanned two. His Cactus League ERA is 1.74. Sergio Santos and Matt Thornton each threw a scoreless inning.
