White Sox sign pitcher Felipe Paulino

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The White Sox agreed to terms with right-hander Felipe Paulino on a one-year, $1.75-million contract, which includes a club option for 2015.

The Sox hold a $4-million club option for 2015, which includes a $250,000 buyout.

Paulino, 30, had reconstructive elbow surgery in July of 2012. He was 3-1 with a 1.67 ERA and 39 strikeouts over seven starts with the Royals in 2012 before surgery.

He spent the 2013 season in the Kansas City Royals organization, making seven appearances in the majors.

In 2011, the 6-3, 270-pounder posted a 4.11 ERA over 20 starts.
