The White Sox are expected to receive minor league left-handed pitcher Sean Bierman and another player as part of the trade for reliever Jesse Crain, the Tampa Bay Times reported Tuesday. The deal is expected to be completed Wednesday.
Bierman, 24, was 6-5 with a 2.44 ERA over two starts and 16 relief appearances in Class A this season.
Crain, who made the American League All-Star team for the first time, was on the disabled list with a shoulder strain when the Sox traded him and cash considerations for a player to be named later or cash considerations on July 29. Crain did not pitch for the Rays.
