ANGELS 6, WHITE SOX 2
Bounceback watch
Gordon Beckham, one of several Sox trying to put last year behind him, forgot about a bad Day 1 at the plate by lining two singles to left field and stealing a base. Beckham struck out in two at-bats Monday. Adam Dunn walked twice in two at-bats, one after falling behind 0-2. He has three walks in four spring plate appearances. “I like what I’m seeing [from Dunn],’’ manager Robin Ventura said.
First impressions
One game in early March means very little, and that’s what GM Ken Williams is probably telling himself after prospect Nestor Molina (acquired for closer Sergio Santos) couldn’t finish his outing Monday and John Danks ($65 million extension) gave up four hits and three walks Tuesday.
Prospect watch
Right-hander Nate Jones, who saved 11 games for Class AA Birmingham last year, pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Eduardo Escobar started at shortstop, started a double play and had an infield single. Escobar had a stolen base taken away when he overslid second base. OF Jared Mitchell lined his second single in two days.
On deck
Brewers, 2:05. Jake Peavy, Zach Stewart, Eric Stults, Charlie Leesman, Brian Bruney, Jose Quintana and Jesse Crain are scheduled to pitch.
