MLB suspends Ozzie two games for KC fracas

August 5, 2008

As expected, Ozzie Guillen was suspended today for his part in Sunday's brawl-filled loss in Kansas City.

Guillen was suspended two games for making contact with umpire Tim Timmons and for his post-game comments.

While denying he had reliever D.J. Carrasco throw at Miguel Olivo, Guillen seemed to imply after the game that he's had pitchers throw at players and seemed to issue a warning that it may happen again against Kansas City.

Olivo and Kansas City pitcher Zack Greinke, who hit Nick Swisher in the hip two innings after Olivo was hit, were suspended five games.

Royals manager Trey Hillman was suspended one game.
