Theo Epstein wrote a long commentary in the Boston Globe today explaining the reasons he left Boston to come to the Cubs.
Epstein said it had nothing to do with the Red Sox tumltuous September, rather it was more about his time being up.
“The reason I am leaving has nothing to do with power, pressure, money, or relationships,” Epstein wrote in the piece. “It has nothing to do with September, either.”
Epstein cited legendary football coach Bill Walsh who theorized that it was good for coaches and executives to move around every 10 years. Epstein had been with the Red Sox the past decade.
