Thursday was not a good day for Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano.
The Cubs’ starter left the game against the Giants in the second inning with stiffness in his back. He threw just 34 pitches.
Later, Zambrano tossed his 35th, the ceremonial first pitch at the Chicago Bandits softball game.
No stiffness there, but moments later, while conducting an interview, Zambrano was nearly hit in the back by a foul ball.
