Cubs-Brewers game rescheduled for July 30

Updated: April 10, 2013 8:29PM

After surviving the most frigid night of the season so far on Tuesday night, the Cubs got an early postponement of a game that otherwise would have been played in worse weather Wednesday night.

Wednesday’s scheduled game between the Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers has been rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on July 30. The postponed game will be at 1:20 p.m. and the regularly-scheduled game at 7:05 p.m. The Brewers next come to town July 29-31.

“You always want to keep playing after you win, and you had a little momentum last night, when some guys had some good at-bats,” Cubs manager Dale Sveum said. “But there’s nothing you can do about [Wednesday’s conditions]. I don’t even know if it’s football weather.”

Sveum won’t skip any starters because of the off day, which means his rotation for the four-game series against defending World Series champion San Francisco, starting Thursday, is: Scott Feldman, Carlos Villanueva, Jeff Samardzija and Edwin Jackson.

NOTE: Sveum said weather also is a factor in where Darwin Barney (gashed knee) does his three-game minor-league rehab assignment Saturday through Monday. First choice would be Kane County of the nearby Midwest League.
