WASHINGTON -- White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham left Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Nationals during the third inning with nerve irritation in his left wrist.

Beckham grimaced and bent over slightly after swinging and missing at a third strike when he batted against Gio Gonzalez in the second. Trainer Herm Schneider checked Beckham’s left wrist. Beckham played the second inning in the field but was replaced by Angel Sanchez in the third.

He is day-to-day.

The Sox and starting pitcher Jake Peavy were tied 2-2 in the sixth inning.
