Cubs hire Anthony Iapoce as special assistant to GM

The Chicago Cubs have hired Anthony Iapoce as a special assistant to the general manager/player development.
He will oversee the Cubs’ minor league hitting program and contribute to other projects within the organization. A former minor league outfielder, Iapoce spent the past three seasons as Toronto’s roving hitting coordinator.
The Cubs announced the hiring on Thursday.
