Kyle Busch got his 34th career win in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, as he dominated the final 10 laps of the EnjoyIllinois.com 225 on Friday at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet.
Busch is doing his own tripleheader this weekend. He will race in Saturday’s Dollar General 300 and Sunday’s GEICO 400.
Busch’s victory is his fourth NCWTS this season and seventh top 10 finish of the season.
“I felt like our truck was better on the long runs,” Busch said. “It was a fun race, but probably more so on our end. I was taking care of my tires to make sure I had enough.”
Brad Keselowski, who will start in the second position in Sunday’s GEICO 400 Sprint Cup race, came in second. Keselowski tried to chase down Busch in the final 10 laps, but Busch’s lead was too great.
“Running this race side by side, there was some pack racing and some single racing is just exceptional to watch and for me to do,” Keselowski said. “I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get the win. But there’s still a lot to be proud of.”
Ryan Blaney, a rookie of the year candidate, was third in his first NCWTS race at Chicagoland.
Matt Crafton leads the NCWTS point standings by 41 points over James Buescher.
