Shaun Hill’s dad dies in fall

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — The father of Detroit Lions’ quarterback Shaun Hill has died in a southwest Missouri hospital after suffering a fall.
Carson-Wall Funeral Services said in an online obituary that Ted Hill died late Saturday afternoon at St. John’s Medical Center in Springfield. He was 60.
The Detroit Free Press reported that Hill was helping work on a barn at Shaun Hill’s home at the Lake of the Ozarks when he fell. Thirty-one-year-old Shaun Hill started 10 games in his first season in Detroit, passing for 2,686 yards.
Ted Hill coached his son in football and basketball when he worked in public schools in Parsons, Kan. He most recently worked at Labette Community College in Parsons.
A funeral will be held Thursday.
