The White Sox defeated the Texas Rangers 5-3 Monday in a rain-shortened game at U.S. Cellular Field. The game was called in the middle of the seventh inning after an approximate one-hour delay.

The Sox took a 5-3 lead in the sixth inning on Tyler Flowers’ two-run single with two outs against Rangers reliever Nate Adcock. Flowers tripled off the top of the right-center field fence in the third inning and lined his eighth homer into the left field seats in the fifth.

Jose Abreu singled twice and drove in two runs for his major league leading 85th and 86th RBI.

Rougned Odor homered with a runner on against Sox starter Hector Noesi (6-8) in the second. Adrian Beltre drove in the other Rangers run with a single in the first.
