Jose Abreu named AL Rookie of the Month­—again

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu has been named American League Rookie of the Month for June, his second such honor.

Abreu, who was named the league’s top rookie for April, batted .313 with 10 home runs, 22 RBI and a .677 slugging percentage in 25 games.

“I am thankful for the way things are going right now,” Abreu said before the Sox scheduled home game against the AngelsWednesday. “Only God knows what he has for me. I think he has more good things coming up.”

Abreu is the first Sox to win the top rookie honors twice.
