Updated: June 16, 2014 1:48PM

Notre Dame wide receiver Will Mahone was arrested on five offenses Sunday in Ohio, according to the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office public documents.

The documents state Mahone was arrested for disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, intimidation and vandalism.

“The University is aware of this incident and is confident that it will be handled in a prompt and professional manner through the criminal justice system,” the school said in a statement. “Internal discipline is handled privately, in accord with our own policies and federal law.”

Mahone is from Austintown, Ohio. He didn’t see any playing time for Notre Dame in 2012 and appeared in two games (against Purdue and Michigan State) in 2013. Mahone missed most of Notre Dame’s spring practice after having surgery to repair a fractured right foot March 6.
