Bears backup QB Jordan Palmer out with shoulder strain

Bears backup quarterback Jordan Palmer is not participating in organized team activities this week because of a strained right pectoral muscle, Palmer said Wednesday.

Veteran Jarrod Johnson, rookie David Fales and newcomer Jimmy Clausen took practice reps behind starter Jay Cutler on Wednesday at the Payton Center — with Johnson and Fales getting the majority of the backup reps.
