Carlos Boozer doesn’t worry about amnesty talk

Updated: February 8, 2014 6:29AM

While stories about power forward Carlos Boozer being an amnesty candidate this offseason are like reporting the sky is blue, Boozer addressed the talk Monday.

‘‘It’s just part of the business,’’ Boozer said. ‘‘It’s part of being in the league. You’re going to hear rumors about you or your teammates.

‘‘I’ve been through it a thousand times. Just something you deal with. Just kind of block everything out, just try to hoop, get your team as high up [in the standings] as you can, and whatever happens is going to happen.

“There’s a business side of basketball that a lot of fans and a lot of media don’t understand.’’

Boozer, who missed the Bulls’ game Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks with a sore right knee, didn’t practice and will be re-evaluated before the morning shootaround Tuesday.

Rose update

Coach Tom Thibodeau said point guard Derrick Rose has been showing up at the practice facility daily and is walking on only one crutch.

Rose tore the meniscus in his right knee Nov. 22 and had season-ending surgery. The hope is to have him sitting with his teammates on the bench by the end of January, but Thibodeau wasn’t making any promises.

‘‘Yeah, yeah, he’s doing fine,’’ Thibodeau said. ‘‘He comes in every day, so he’s doing good.’’
