Lucky Northwestern beats Maine 35-21

Northwestern had luck on its side Saturday when it beat Maine 35-21 at home.
Damien Proby and Dean Lowry each returned interceptions for touchdowns, the Wildcats blocked a field goal and saw Maine miss another. According to a Northwestern spokesman, Proby said at halftime that the interception was the first of he has had playing any level of football.
Quarterback Kain Colter had a rough day. He completed five of nine passes for 85 yards and a touchdown and ran for only 38 yards on 12 carries. Running back Mike Trumpy led the way with 17 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown.
