It’s said that the camera adds 10 pounds.
In Jay Cutler’s case, it adds a little personality, too.
The famously grumpy quarterback displayed his comedy chops when he and wife Kristin Cavallari appeared on FXX’s “The League” on Wednesday night.
“It was good,” Cutler said. “But like I told Kristin, it’s a lot of waiting around. You do your thing and then, you know, it’s like three hours, just sitting around. I was like, ‘This is what you do?’ Played on the I-Pad, played some cards, it was fun, but I don’t think I would’ve done it if she wouldn’t have asked me, so I don’t think it’s something I’ll be doing regularly.”
In one scene of the episode “Chalupa vs. the Cutlet,” Jay and Kristin meet another couple who are blown away when the Cutlers’ son flings one of his toys. “Must get it from his mother,” Cutler is told.
In a different scene, a boy tackles Cutler’s son and takes his bottle of breast milk. When the other parents tell Cavallari, it was a strip and a sack, Cavallari objects, saying, “No one sacks Cutler.”
Unfortunately, Bears fans know that to be fiction, too.
“I didn’t watch it,” he added. “Don’t think I will watch it. Kristin watched it the other day and said it was pretty good, so I’ll take her word for it.”
