There stood Tom Thibodeau following Monday night’s Summer League win, a smile on his face.
Kind of a rarity for the Bulls coach.
Standing next to him? General manager Gar Forman, laughing it up with his coach.
No yelling, not one evil stare.
If the two are indeed involved in a growing rift they have a funny way of showing it.
After Forman made the decision to not renew the contract of assistant coach, and Thibodeau’s close friend, Ron Adams a few weeks ago, there was a perception that coach and GM were headed into Ozzie Guillen-Ken Williams land.
Thibodeau cleared that up on Saturday night, insisting, “No, we’re fine. As I tell our players, I tell everyone, we’re not looking backwards, we’re looking ahead, and we’re getting ready for next season.’’
Adams landed a job with the Celtics Monday night, so it wasn’t like the respected assistant coach was going to be jobless very long, and as for Forman he seemed pleased that the entire matter is becoming old news.
At least that’s the hope.
“I’ve always known where it’s at,’’ Forman said of the relationship with his coach.
