There have been no punches pulled when it comes to Marquis Teague and the importance of his play this summer.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau stated that several times near the end of the playoff run, promising that Teague’s offseason wouldn’t have much “off’’ to it.

So far that’s been the case, with the first-round pick from the 2012 NBA Draft getting a lot of extra work at the Berto Center, and now he will headline the Bulls Summer League squad which begins play Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Teague, along with 2013 first-rounder Tony Snell and second-rounder Erik Murphy, will take on Memphis at the COX Pavilion on the UNLV campus in their opening game, and will then play Denver and Portland before a seeded tournament-style circuit will determine the NBA Summer League Champion.

Other players on the Bulls roster includes Malcolm Thomas, Andrew Goudelock, Champ Oguchi, Charles Boozer, Andy Rautins, Kyle Gibson, Matt Janning, Deon Thompson, Ryan Allen and Matthew Bryan-Amaning.
