1. Of Chicago’s most recent championship coaches/managers — Joel Quenneville, Ozzie Guillen, Phil Jackson and yourself — who had the best mustache?

Oh, I don’t know. I think Quenneville’s is pretty good now. When I was young, mine wasn’t bad, but I think Quenneville has a pretty good mustache.

2. You are the honorary starter at the NHRA drag-racing event Sunday in Joliet. Are we going to see you pull a Joe Gibbs and get involved in auto racing?

No, I’m involved with JEGS Racing. We sell some apparel with them through a clothing line my son runs, so they asked me to do it. I used to go when I was young, but I haven’t been out there lately.

3. Chicago is abuzz over the Blackhawks. What’s your lasting memory from the Bears’ Super Bowl parade?

It’s not as much about us as the fans. The fans are so excited and so proud of their sports teams in Chicago. It’s pretty interesting when you see that. It’s about the fans; the fans make it happen. The Blackhawks are such a great franchise. They’ve been very consistent over the years. I started with them back in the ’60s, with Bobby [Hull] and Stan [Mikita], and watched the championships back then. And then to watch what they did the other night with the two goals in 17 seconds. The thing about winning a championship in any sport, it gives the town a tremendous sense of pride. And that’s what you’re getting right now.

4. With a few weeks to NFL training camp, what are most head coaches thinking about?

They have a lot on their mind right now. You have to get your practice schedule organized, the people you want to look at that maybe aren’t starters, decide how much contact you want to have with the offensive line and defensive line. You know, these guys have done this all year. They’re ready to go right now. The main thing you want to do is get good practice, good work, good timing and no injuries.
