The Bulls announced before tip-off that veteran shooting guard Richard Hamilton was a late scratch in the start against Philadelphia, sidelined with lower back spasms.
It was the first game Hamilton missed since Christmas Day against Houston, as the veteran had been averaging 10.2 points per game to go along with 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds per contest. Hamilton missed most of December when he tore the plantar fascia is his left foot.
Taj Gibson remained sidelined with the sprained left knee, and of course Derrick Rose was still inactive as he recovered from May surgery to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
