Police: Josh Brent drove drunk on suspended license

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was driving with a suspended license and had a blood-alcohol content more than twice the legal limit at the time of the car crash that killed friend, former Illinois teammate and Cowboys practice-squad linebacker Jerry Brown,
according to documents released by police Thursday.
Brent, who was indicted Wednesday on one count of intoxication manslaughter, was tested after the crash early Dec. 8 and had a blood-alcohol content of .189 percent, well above the Texas limit of .08. The police report said Brent was intoxicated and driving faster than the speed limit when he struck a curb, causing the car to flip over.
The crash report also said Brent was driving with an expired and suspended license obtained in Illinois, where he pleaded guilty three years ago to a misdemeanor charge of DUI while playing for the Illini.
