Running back Venric Mark became the 39th player in Northwestern history to be named an All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
Mark made the team as a punt returner. He’s the only Big Ten player on the squad.
Mark averaged 20.1 yards per punt return, tops in the nation.
He became the second player in school history — and the first since 1949 — to return two punts for touchdowns in a season.
Mark ranked ninth in the country with 171.7 all-purpose yards per game.
