ROCKFORD — Defenseman Brian Fahey’s power-play goal at 1:26 of the second period lifted the Rockford IceHogs over the Wolves 2-1 on Friday night.
Defenseman Nolan Baumgartner scored the Wolves’ only goal, and Eddie Lack (12-12-3) stopped 27 of 29 shots as his three-game winning streak was snapped.
IceHogs goalie Alexander Salak (4-6-0) held off a late charge by the Wolves and finished with 28 saves.
The IceHogs (21-23-1-4) opened the scoring at 3:19 of the first period when right wing Ben Smith put a rebound of a shot by center Peter LeBlanc through Lack’s legs.
The Wolves (26-18-1-3) tied it at 12:45 of the first period on the power play. Baumgartner got knocked down in the crease after receiving a pass from forward Anton Rodin, but he got back to his feet and put the puck past Salak.
After Lack made two terrific saves early in the second period, IceHogs captain Brandon Segal set a screen to allow Fahey to give the IceHogs the lead.
