Ryan lanes open for now, ramps to close

Today's scheduled closing of the Dan Ryan's local lanes has been put off until at least next week because of poor weather, but the Illinois Department of Transportation said it would try to close some other lanes and ramps by this morning.

Weather-permitting, traffic will be reduced to one inbound lane along the Bishop Ford Freeway from Cottage Grove Avenue to the inbound Dan Ryan.

The following ramps may also be closed on the outbound Ryan: entrance from 31st Street, exit to 39th, entrance from 71st, exit to 75th, entrance from 79th, exit to 83rd and exit to Wentworth Avenue.

On the inbound Ryan, closed ramps may include the entrance from Michigan Avenue, entrance from 83rd, exit to 79th and exit to 71st.

All of these ramp closings would remain in effect until April.
