Investigators have confirmed an accelerant was used in multiple places to spark a fire in a Northwest Side church early Saturday — just a day after bricks were thrown through the 85-year-old church’s front doors. No one was reported injured in the fire at Outreach Community Church in the 4300 block of West Parker. The blaze broke out about 3:20 a.m., and was extinguished within about 40 minutes, fire officials said. Calling prayers and well wishes for Cardinal Francis George a “significant aspect of his continuing health journey,” the Archdiocese of Chicago has set up a link on its Web site for the public to directly contact the Catholic leader. George, 75, announced last week that cancer was found in his kidney and liver, six years after he underwent surgery for cancer in his bladder, prostate and ureter.
