MAKES 20 SERVINGS
1½ cups walnuts
1 large apple (such as Red Delicious)
Kosher wine, to moisten
4 teaspoons cinnamon
4 teaspoons sugar
Mince walnuts and apple together well, keeping the texture coarse as mortar. Moisten with wine. Flavor with cinnamon and sugar. Cover and refrigerate (will keep for 3 days).
