Carolina pulled pork sub

MAKES 1 (12-INCH SUB) OR 4 SERVINGS

4 ounces frozen sweet potato fries
6 ounces pulled pork (from supermarket deli)
1 (12-inch) piece of Italian bread
4 ounces coleslaw (from super- market deli)

Cook sweet potato fries, according to manufacturer's directions.

Warm pulled pork, according to manufacturer's directions. Cut bread lengthwise; pile with pulled pork. Top with coleslaw and sweet potato fries. Cut sub into four (3-inch) pieces.

Steelers' style sub

MAKES 1 (12-INCH) SUB OR 4 SERVINGS

4 ounces frozen french fries
6 ounces pastrami
1 (12-inch) piece of Italian bread
1/4 cup vegetable oil (for cooking pastrami)
4 ounces cole slaw (from supermarket deli)
8 slices tomato

Cook french fries, according to manufacturer's directions.

Saute pastrami in oil until browned and crispy. Cut bread lengthwise; pile with pastrami. Top with coleslaw, french fries, and tomato slices. Cut sub into 4 (3-inch) pieces.

Bears' style sub

MAKES 1 (12-INCH) SUB OR 4 SERVINGS

1 (12-inch) piece of Italian bread
2 ounces Genoa salami
2 ounces mortadella
2 ounces hot capicola
2 ounces Provolone
3 ounces shredded lettuce
1 ounce shaved onions
8 slices tomato

DRESSING

3/4 cup Italian dressing or substitute
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
3 tablespoons dried oregano

For dressing, use Italian dressing or substitute a combination of olive oil, vinegar, and dried oregano; reserve.

Layer bread with salami, mortadella, hot capicola and Provolone (or desired meats and cheeses). Top with layers of lettuce, onions and tomato slices. Drizzle with dressing. Cut sub into 4 (3-inch) pieces.
