Butter bonbons

December 12, 0007

MAKES ABOUT 36 COOKIES

½ cup confectioners' sugar

2 sticks butter, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups flour

1 cup white chocolate chips

1 cup milk chocolate chips

Mix together confectioners' sugar, butter and vanilla until creamy. Add flour, white and milk chocolate chips and mix by hand. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes. (Cookies will only spread slightly.) Do not overbake. Remove cookie sheets from oven immediately and allow cookies to set on sheets in a cool spot.

If desired, after cookies cool, melt ½ cup milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips in the microwave. Pour chocolate into plastic baggie. Cut a very small opening at the corner of baggie. Drizzle chocolate on top of cookies.
