Biscuit pizza bake

February 25, 2009

MAKES 6 SERVINGS

1 pound ground chuck

2 tubes (12 ounces each) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

1 (15-ounce) can pizza sauce

1 cup green pepper, chopped

1 cup onion, chopped

1 (4-ounce) can mushroom pieces and stems, drained

1 (3 1/2 ounce) package sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In skillet, cook ground chuck until no longer pink; drain. Meanwhile, quarter the biscuits and placed in greased shallow 3-quart baking dish. Top biscuits with layers of pizza sauce, drained chuck, green pepper, onions, mushrooms, pepperoni and cheeses. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
