MAKES 1 SERVING

2 cups cold whole, skim or soy milk

1 tablespoon dark chocolate syrup

2 shots (2 ounces total) espresso

Whipped cream and chocolate syrup or chocolate sprinkles, optional

Fill a 16-ounce glass with ice.

Pour ?226-130? cup of cold milk into a milk steaming pitcher. With the steam arm of the espresso machine, gently introduce air to create milk foam and continue heating to approximately 145 degrees.

When finished, scoop ?206-140? cup of the milk foam directly onto the ice. Be sure to use only the foam and discard the hot steamed milk that is underneath the foam.

Pour dark chocolate syrup into a cup. Using an espresso machine, prepare 2 shots espresso and extract a double shot directly into the cup with the chocolate syrup. Gently whisk the chocolate syrup together with the espresso until melted.

Pour the chocolate-espresso mixture over the foam and ice; fill the rest of the cup with remaining cold milk, and stir.

Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup or chocolate sprinkles, if desired.
