Jalapeno-infused vodka or gin
MAKES 16 OUNCES
1 jalapeno pepper
1 chipotle pepper (smoked jalapeno pepper)
1 pint vodka or gin
Add jalapeno and chipotle to bottle of vodka or gin. Secure lid and shake three or four times. Place in a cool, dark place for 24 hours. Shake bottle several times during the infusion.
Check for flavor; let stand another 24 hours, or until flavor reaches desired intensity. When vodka is ready, strain through a paper coffee filter into a clean container; the vodka should be clear. Seal tightly; refrigerate indefinitely.
