Naperville
The Party That Shall Not Be Named: Downtown Naperville will transform into Harry Potter's wizarding world from noon today until after the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" at midnight Saturday. Downtown businesses will magically become familiar settings from the books and movie, such as Honeyduke's Sweetshop, Flourish & Blott's and The Hog's Head. Downtown visitors can sample Butterbeer, make their own magic wands and be sorted by the Sorting Hat as they await the last book in the series. Naperville Cultural Center: The Naperville Cultural Center will celebrate the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" by transforming into Quality Quidditch Supplies from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at 55 S. Main St., Suite 211. Kids can create their own broomstick, wands, golden snitch and magic desserts. Call 630-696-4177.

Naperville Public Library: The library is hosting two raffles to celebrate the release of the latest "Harry Potter" book. All this week, patrons can enter a raffle for the large cardboard Harry Potter stand-up figures on display in each building. That raffle ends at 5 p.m. Saturday. The other raffle takes place at the Nichols Library today starting at 4:30 p.m. Drawings take place every 30 minutes from 5 p.m. to midnight, with 43 opportunities to win. At midnight a copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and a Cookie Dough Creations "bouquet" will be raffled off.

Book Drive, Naperville: Two Bostons Pet Boutique and Gourmet Bakery is hosting a book drive throughout the week in conjunction with The Party That Shall Not Be Named. Books may be donated until Sunday. Call 630-357-7621.

Barnes & Noble, Naperville: Harry Potter book discussions take place at 3 p.m. today at 47 E. Chicago Ave. Each of the Harry Potter books will be discussed in the order leading up to the release Saturday of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Little wizards can join in at noon for coloring, and teens and adults are welcome at 1 p.m. to guess what will happen to Harry and friends in their final adventure. Borders, Naperville: Attend the Grand Hallows Ball tonight at Borders, 336 S. Route 59 in Naperville. Guests are invited to dress in ball attire or as their favorite Harry Potter character to enter Borders' costume contest. There also will be the chance to reveal your Hogwarts smarts in the Potter Spelling Bee, silence foes in the Great Snape Debate and participate in other Harry Potter-themed activities. Barnes & Noble, Bolingbrook: A special Midnight Magic Costume Party will begin at 9 p.m. July 20 at 631 E. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook. Mischievous Muggles are invited to come dressed as their favorite Harry Potter characters for a night of face painting, fortune telling, photo opportunities and prizes. Downers Grove
Anderson's Bookshop, Downers Grove: Anderson's is raffling off the Nos. 1 and 2 positions in line for the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" at the stroke of midnight July 21. Raffle ticket sales will benefit local charities. Tickets are $2 each or $5 for three chances to win. Purchase tickets at either Anderson's location. Winners receive the spots in line only and not a copy of the book. The winner must have pre-purchased the book from Anderson's to qualify for the prize. Call 630-963-2665. Tivoli Theatre, Downers Grove : The Leaky Cauldron Pottercast takes place at 10 a.m. today at 5201 Highland Ave., Downers Grove, when Melissa Anelli, John Now and Sue Upton of the popular Leaky Cauldron Web site host a discussion of the first six Harry Potter books, making predictions for the seventh. The talk will air on the Leaky Cauldron podcast. Tickets are $5, and those with "Deathly Hallows" presale proof of purchase from Anderson's Bookshop get a $2 discount. Call 630-963-2665.
