Who are the Bulls targeting when free agency opens on Friday? Is Vince Carter on their wish list? Click through the gallery and see some of their options at shooting guard.
JAMAL CRAWFORD, SG, Hawks, 31: Hawks want him back but several teams, including Bulls, may be interested in player who has averaged 17.9 points since 2003-04 even if he is a defensive liability. It may take a sign-and-trade deal for Bulls to pull off.
ARRON AFFLALO, SG, Nuggets, 25: Blossomed into a well-rounded two-guard, which is why Denver has made its top priority keeping the restricted free agent who averaged 12.6 points per game last season and made 42.3 percent of his 3-pointers.
JASON RICHARDSON, SG, Magic, 30: Has the ability to finish and hit a 3-pointer, which are two things the Bulls could use. Two brushes with law in recent years led to Suns suspending him a game. Could be ideal fit if he’ll accept the mid-level exemption.
NICK YOUNG, SG, Wizards, 26: Nuggets, Kings, Hornets and Suns are also interested in the restricted free agent, who is likely to re-sign with Washington. Young averaged 17.4 points last season could develop into a cornerstone.
VINCE CARTER, SG, Phoenix Suns, 34: He’s isn’t the player he was, and he could be a liability on defense, but he’s still capable of taking over games for stretches, which is what the Bulls need, especially in the postseason.
MICHAEL REDD, SG, Bucks, 32: Hasn't played a full season in 3 years because of knee injuries, but was a tough cover when healthy. Would be a huge gamble.
ANTHONY PARKER, Cavs, SG, 36: The Naperville Central product re-signed with the Cavs and will vie for the starting point guard position.
Shannon Brown's annual Woodstar Music Festival kicks off with a celebrity basketball game at the UIC Flames Athletic Center at noon Saturday. The concert starts at 4 p.m. at Union Park.
CARON BUTLER, SF, Mavericks, 31: Bulls had a look at him but he opted to sign with Clippers.
SHANE BATTIER, Rockets, SF/SG, 33: Bulls can cross the former Duke star off their list. He's headed to the Heat.
If Dwight Howard is coming to the Bulls, maybe he can charter a flight with Brett Favre and Albert Pujols. The NBA and MLB’s hot stove has been serving up enough rumors to fuel the Internet’s continuous news cycle. Throw in the Bears quarterback crisis …
