Suzanne Kondratenko, 27, of Chicago, a management consultant for Keane Consulting Group, was on the 92nd floor of the WTC’s south tower.
Lt. Darin Pontell, 26, of Arlington Heights died at the Pentagon, where he’d been assigned to the intelligence department.
Vanessa Kolpak, 21, who grew up in Lincolnwood, was working for an investment firm in the south tower of WTC. She first called her mother to say she was safe, but that was before the second tower was hit.

Navy Cmdr. Dan F. Shanower, 40, of Naperville, chief of naval operations intelligence plot, had begun gathering data on the World Trade Center attacks but was killed in the Pentagon crash.
