QUARTERBACK: A- After a slow start, Jay Cutler made the most of a supporting role, taking advantage of golden opportunities to finish 16-for-29 for 229 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs for a 138.1 passer rating.
RUNNING BACKS: A Like Cutler, Matt Forte was productive in a limited role, with 12 carries for 103 yards and a TD and 2 receptions for 45 yards. He had gains of 47, 46, 16 and 15 yards. But his 8-yard TD run was the most impressive.
RECEIVERS: A Brandon Marshall is all they needed. Marshall led the way with 9 catches for 122 yards and TD catches of 39, 13 and 5 yards. Earl Bennett had 4 catches for 22 yards. Devin Hester had 2 catches for 19 yards.
OFFENSIVE LINE: A- Overall the blocking was improved, with key blocks springing Forte for big runs. Cutler was sacked thrice, but TEs contributed to much of that. J’Marcus Webb had a penalty that gave the Titans a safety.
DEFENSIVE LINE: A- Israel Idonije and Stephen Paea shared a sack that led to a punt that led to Hester’s punt return that led to Forte’s TD. Idonije and Henry Melton were injured, but are expected to be OK.
LINEBACKERS: A Brian Urlacher keeps getting better the more he plays. Urlacher had a 46-yard INT return for a TD, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. Nick Roach had a big third-and-1 stop to force a punt.
DEFENSIVE BACKS: A After being named the Player of the Month for October, Charles Tillman was even better Sunday, with 4 forced fumbles to spark the rout. Chris Conte had 3 pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
SPECIAL TEAMS: A Sherrick McManis started everything with a blocked punt that led to Corey Wootton’s TD in the first quarter. Hester broke through with a 44-yard punt return that set up Forte’s 8-yard TD.
COACHING: A So much for a “trap” game — Bears were up 28-2 after one quarter. They’re so dialed-in as an attacking defense, they are creating turnovers almost at will against opponents that know what’s coming.
