On Sunday, 118 hopeful ballerinas ages 10 to 18 gathered at Ballet Chicago on North State Street to audition for a five-week summer course at the School of American Ballet, the official academy of the New York City Ballet. Chicago was one of 20 cities holding auditions for more than 200 spots in the summer classes.
