Chicago’s Christmas Tree donated by the Theiszmann family of Prospect Heights is cut down and loaded on truck for a trip to Daley Plaza.

The Theiszmann family of Prospect Heights donated their tree to be cut down for the City of Chicago's Annual Christmas Tree at Daley Plaza. Work crews spent about 3 hours cutting it down and placing it on a long flatbed truck for it's trip to the city. It is 63 years old and weighs 12 thousand pounds. | Al Podgorski~Chicago Sun-Times

The 99th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held on Daley Plaza, Tuesday, November 20th beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Theiszmann family of Prospect heights, Illinois, is donating this year’s tree and will have the opportunity to light the tree with Mayor Rahm Emanuel to usher in the holiday season in Chicago.
